Just for Joy

Mostly natural reclaimed fibers line

Wool, Merino, Angora, Alpaca, Camel, Silk, Linen, Cotton, Rayon—Lovely fibers from natural sources, they feel and look inviting to touch.

Our mostly natural line of pompoms is made from reclaimed fibers that have labels that indicate what they contain or they have been burn tested to determine fiber content.

Once upon a time someone bought these yarns to make a project. But their ambition was bigger than their capacity and those hanks and skeins and balls of yarn got squirreled away in closets and attics until we came along to help those yarns fulfill their purpose to bring joy and love to the world.

Some yarns have small amounts of manmade fibers blended in.

Because I save my materials from landfill and long forgotten storage bins I do not always know the exact makeup of the yarns. Manmade fibers have the benefit of being colorful, less allergenic and plentiful. Because these are forever materials I am happy to bring them to life so that we can enjoy the color and texture and joy they bring.

If these yarns were labeled, they are manmade (polyester, acrylic, nylon and others) generally with less than 20% natural fibers blended in. Or I burn tested them and determined them to be manmade materials.

handmade with love

I hand make all my pompoms — either one at a time or I can make a small set at once. The sets do not take less time per pompom but there is less waste as they don’t need as much trimming. This is slow art, with care and mindfulness woven in. I know you will love them because I had so much fun making them. I hope you can feel the joy.
