Who we are
Summer of 2025 I made my first pompom on a whim and couldn’t stop. I gave the early ones away as I experimented with materials and styles—everyone who received a pompom lit up with joy. I felt the same joy as I was making them. Then I saw an icord machine and had a brainwave—what if I could wear pompoms at all times?! What if everyone could wear pompoms at all times?! What if I could hang them all over my house?!
I experimented with yarns, materials and ways of attaching them. My life was all pompoms all the time. The pompom fluff grew ever deeper.
I have always been a thrift store shopper—I love the thrill of discovery—and I deeply believe in rescuing things from landfill. I also am inspired by the challenge of working with found materials. So, everything you see on this website has been made with second chance fibers—some of them are decades old as their labels indicate.
What’s in a name?
Is it Pom Pom, or Pompom, or Pom-pom, or… Pom pon?!
It turns out all are correct. I prefer the first two and use them interchangeably depending on how it looks to me on the page.
But mostly it is about holding the real thing in your hands.
